The NOOK Sauna · Wellness
A garden sauna, warm in under forty minutes
Heat, then cold, then quiet — thirty steps from your back door on any winter night. Warm to 80°C in thirty to forty minutes.
An outdoor garden sauna, warm in under forty minutes.
Heat, then cold, then quiet — in a purpose-built ~10 m² sauna
Heat, cold, quiet
Heat, then cold, then quiet — at the end of your own garden
The spa costs a membership and a drive, and the wellness habit you want — the sauna, the cold plunge, the ten quiet minutes after — has nowhere to live at home. A NOOK Sauna keeps the whole sequence thirty steps from the back door, so an ordinary Tuesday becomes a reset rather than a plan for the weekend.

The whole sequence — the sauna, the cold plunge, the ten quiet minutes after — thirty steps from the house, any night of the year.
Heat-up proof
Ready before you've changed
Trigger the HUUM stove from your phone on the walk down the garden. Scroll through the heat-up, minute by minute — the same hemlock interior, warming through the session.

Inside, a proper sauna
Inside · hemlock & benches
A hemlock-lined interior with tiered benches, warm underfoot and soft to the touch — the surface of a proper sauna.
The HUUM stove · by app
You trigger the HUUM stove from your phone on the way home, so it comes up to heat on its own — no idling, no waiting in front of it.
Not a gimmick
A real sauna, not a barrel in the corner
A NOOK Sauna compared with a budget barrel or tent sauna.
| Criteria | NOOK Sauna | A budget barrel / tent sauna |
|---|---|---|
| Shell | Insulated, holds heat | Thin, leaks heat |
| Heat control | HUUM, app-controlled | Manual, guesswork |
| Changing space | Separate vestibule | None |
| Interior | Hemlock, tiered benches | Basic slats |
| Warranty | 3-year structural | Limited or none |
Reversible, not permanent
On screw piles, not a slab
With no plumbing to connect, the Sauna is the fastest NOOK to install — set on reversible screw piles and connected to power in under two hours. No concrete, no civil works, and it can be relocated or removed with no lasting mark on the garden.
A Mobility & Demountability Certificate comes with every building.
Three NOOKs for Wellness. One Is the Sauna.
Each module plays a different role in the garden's heat-and-cold sequence.

Questions About Garden Saunas
How long does a garden sauna take to heat up?
Between thirty and forty minutes. The HUUM stove is roughly 6 kW and app-controlled, so you trigger it from your phone and it reaches about 80°C in 30–40 minutes — ready before you have finished changing. The insulated shell and hemlock interior hold that heat steadily through a session.
What does a garden sauna cost to run?
Running cost depends on how often and how long you use it, your electricity tariff and the outside temperature, so rather than quote a per-session figure we cannot stand behind, we talk it through honestly during the consultation. The app-controlled stove helps by heating only when you schedule it, rather than idling.
Do I need planning permission for a garden sauna?
In many areas a garden building of this size sits within permitted development, and because a NOOK rests on reversible screw piles rather than a concrete slab it is often treated differently from a permanent extension. Rules vary by council, so we provide the full technical documentation and you confirm the position with your local authority. Treat this as guidance, not legal advice.
Is it a real sauna or a gimmick?
It is a proper, purpose-built sauna: a hemlock interior with tiered benches, a separate vestibule to change and cool down in, an app-controlled HUUM stove and cross-ventilation for a steady, breathable heat. That is a different thing from a budget barrel or tent sauna with a basic heater and no insulated shell.
How long does it take to install?
Under two hours on site. Because a sauna has no plumbing to connect, it installs faster than the Base or Doble — craned onto its reversible screw piles and connected to power the same day, with no concrete and no civil works.
